This listing is for an original pastel, painted in Vermont along the Missisquoi River in 2024. It was an overcast day, but this gnarled old tree leaning over the water drew me to it. May be framed in a black and gold made-in-USA frame behind premium non-glare glass.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
