Original pastel painting of the gardens outside the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, IN. Painting measures approximately 8x10", and was painted en plein air, or on location, during the 2023 Carmel-on-Canvas plein air festival. It can be framed in a made-in-USA black and gold wood frame behind premium non-glare glass. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
