Titled "A Quiet Place to Rest", this 6x8" soft pastel was painted en plein air in a riverside park in Upstate NY. Painting can be framed in a black and gold made-in-USA frame, with premium non-glare glass. Unframed paintings will be shipped protected with a layer of glassine paper between two rigid boards. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
