This listing is for an original signed and framed pastel painting of the beautiful colors in the clouds over the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands and the location of the territory's capital, George Town. The clouds curl and undulate and catch the setting sun. Painting has been matted in white to 11x14". Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
