This listing is for an original 10x13" pastel, painted en plein air (on location) at the Adirondack Experience museum during a summer art festival. Painting is framed in a traditional oak frame behind premium non-glare glass. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
