An original signed 9x12” pastel painting of Devil's Tower National Monument. Devils Tower was the first United States National Monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. It rises 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River, standing 867 feet from summit to base. It was featured in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Painting measures 9x12" on mounted archival sanded paper. Can be framed in black with glass and spacers. If painting will be shipped unframed, it will be protected with a layer of glassine paper between two rigid boards.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
