Michigan is a state in the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest regions of the United States. Its name comes from the Ojibwe word mishigami, meaning "large water" or "large lake", and is bordered by four of the five Great Lakes. Pictured here are the state wildflower, the dwarf lake iris.
