"Joe Pye Weed" Summer Marsh Pastel Painting | New England Landscape Art
An original pastel painting of a marshy pond in Upstate NY. Painting measures 9x12" on pastel paper, painted on location during the Morristown Plein Air Festival. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Painting can be matted and framed in black and gold, with premium anti-glare glass. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
