Titled "Piney Path", this 6x8" soft pastel was painted en plein air around the Heron Marsh at Paul Smith's Visitor Interpretive Center in the Adirondack Mountains. Painting can be framed in a black and gold made-in-USA frame, with premium non-glare glass. Unframed paintings will be shipped protected with a layer of glassine paper between two rigid boards.
Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels: -Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper. -Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer. -If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
