Original pastel painting of a park bench looking out over the Piercefield Flow near Tupper Lake, NY in Autumn. Painted during the 2023 Tupper Lake Plein Air Festival. Titled "Until Next Time", painting measures 11x14" on archivally mounted sanded paper. May be framed in a black and gold wood frame with premium non-glare glass, wired and ready to hang. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
