This listing is for an original pastel painted en plein air during autumn at an apple orchard in Upstate NY.
Measures 6x12" on sanded paper mounted to archival board. This painting can be framed in a handmade-in-USA black and gold frame, with premium Museum glass, wired and ready to hang. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
