This listing is for an original pastel of a view of abolitionist John Brown's Adirondack farmhouse. Painting was painted en plein air, and measures 18x24" unframed on archival sanded paper. May also be framed in a black and gold frame behind premium Masterpiece glass, wired and ready to hang. Original artwork by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer. Colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
Framing tips for pastels:
- Frame behind glass, not acrylic or polystyrene. The static from plastic-type glazing will pull the pastel dust away from the paper.
- Pastels must not touch the glass, or they will smear. Use a mat or framing spacer.
- If matting, put some foam core or a spacer between the painting and the mat. This will prevent pastel dust from falling in front of the mat, discoloring it.
